Puerto Aisén and Invac!

There hasn't been a ton of free time for me to travel around the region since I arrived at NOLS Patagonia. However, a few weeks ago I was able to take a leisurely Sunday drive with Dave and Martin to a local town on the Pacific Coast called Puerto Aisén. It is at this port that we often send out and receive students on the kayaking portions of their NOLS courses. Below are some images from the trip.

Those damn NOLS people have to try to climb everything

The other trip I went on recently was a student invac, which is the opposite of an evac(uation). On this occasion a student was sick when she arrived at NOLS before the course. She stayed here for a few days to recuperate while the rest of the course left for the field. I, along with a few others, escorted her into the mountains to meet up with the rest of her class.

The road required a bit of TLC...this is Sergio and Oscar, two of the toughest and nicest Patagonians around

Michel and Betsy,  two people who I'm quickly becoming good friends with. Both are instructors and both climb cool mountains

I like this style of blogging...more pictures, fewer words. Unless I'm transformed into a particularly intrepid writer in the upcoming weeks, future posts will probably be more like this one.
